I've been playing Link's Awakening DX on my 3DS Virtual Console. A little while ago, after getting through the first six or seven dungeons, I realized I missed the Kanalet Castle photo op. You have to approach the drawbridge while it's still raised to trigger the photo. I had forgotten all about that, and gone right into the castle and pressed the switch to lower the drawbridge.
So, naturally, me being me, I started up a new file with the intention to 100% the thing this time. (And if you're wondering about the THIEF photo op since that one changes how NPCs address you, and makes you unable to enter the shop ever again under threat of a Game Over, I figured I could leave that one for just before going into the Wind Fish's Egg, and get it whenever I want to without saving.)
THEN, playing Picross 2 for Game Boy (a Japanese release), after getting through all ten Mario areas and the first three Wario areas, I realized I had failed to meet the requirements for activating the tenth puzzles in the first three Marios, and for some dumb reason the programmers didn't put in a fail-safe where you could go back and retry the first nine puzzles to meet the requirements.
So, naturally, me being me, I started up a new file with the intention to 100% the thing this time.
Why do I have to be such an insufferable perfectionist...?
